The Royal Summer Palace in Oslo, located on the Bygdøy Peninsula, is a masterpiece of neo-Gothic architecture. It was built in 1847-1852 for King Oscar I and Queen Josephine. Today, it is a popular museum open to the public during the summer, surrounded by a picturesque park that slopes down to the Frognerkilen Fjord.
