Santa Maria della Salute in Venice

About
A jewel of Venice on the waterfront at the entrance to the Grand Canal. It was built between 1631 and 1687 by architect Baldassare Longhena in gratitude to the Virgin Mary for deliverance from the plague of the 1630s.
